In The Body - Being Present

Being Present

We spend all day thinking and planning and figuring out - it is just as easy - to not be interested in thoughts and to actually allow just being. It's easier when you get the hang of it. There is no stress and there is no past.

Stop thinking and breathe.

Allowing our interest and attention to focus to this moment gives us the ability to create from our heart and to be in alignment with our whole self. This is a new type of awareness for many of us and a new type of dedication to a new way of being. Feeling your breath, feeling your body and being grateful for something in the moment - the blue sky, the tress, flowers, birds singing - your children, the breeze,

It is the key to ease and flow and true freedom.

TRANSITION
Pausing to be creates a transition in energy that we live in. This actual energy is of a different nature and creating within being is a different experience than creating within thoughts.

When you are about to create - take a moment, breathe and allow some space before transitining from one thing to another. Generally this is a great practice for our lives. Being aware enough to choose being over thinking, moving slowly and feeling what our heart wants and having self-love.

Compassion flows easily when we are present and notice our needs and how we can help and be there for ourselves and others.

Art Breath
Bringing this compassion and self-love into expression - artistic expression creates artwork which vibrates at this same frequency and carries this message within it's lines, colours and forms.

In The Body - Being Present

Being Present

Willingly I just stop thinking and feel my breath inhale and fill myself up with my presence. Appreciating being alive is a natural feeling, and I do this before I begin the DRAW or PAINT.
It's like when you have been speaking for a long time and then you want to sing - well first you have to build up some air in your system as requires speaking a staccatto rhythmn of air and singing needs long exhalations to hold notes.

Drawing and painting are languages and they have a frame of reference in presence like everything else. You can want to draw something or you can begin to be, feel and draw... the act of allowing yourself to be first allows you a space to come into drawing and creating.

Art Breath - In The Body - Drawing In Love 2
 by Darinka Blagaj

Our ecstatic nature is always within us. Sometimes deeply covered by the noise of day to day - though usually a smile away - a sensation of grace, a feeling of gratitude - these expand me, like colours.

When I first really began to paint of my own initiative - I just wanted to mix colours - to feel all the vibrant light - my eyes would literally "eat it up"! The cravings for more and more richer colour grew. It was like my eyes were missing these hues and I needed them for balancing my inspiration inside my  heart.

The next experience I craved was wandering lines... sensual, peaceful, thin, thick, random, surprising - turning, spinning, journeying. wrapping and holding space to create a form. Lines easily moved into creating characters, eyes, totem animals, trees with feet, hands as wings - the stretch of possibilities captivate me as the "allowing' of being is given a place to express and a time to flow.

And then there is mixing the two - the pure bliss of drawing - no judgement, just experience in combining as a feeling which comes in and permeates the moment - so does a mixture of colour, line, form... the white of the paper is the majesty upon which this love is being made.

Every urge to create needs a space of love to express upon - it is a gift I give myself when I indulge in drawing in love... a state of grace I enter and i invite you to indulge in this yourself.

begin where you are: if fascinated by colour start there, maybe some oil pastel or chalk pastel - if fascinated by flow wet a brush with watercolour, if you want staccato - graphite pencil and rythmn.

Allow... put on some music and dance on the paper...

Aloha,
Darinka

In The Body Series - Drawing in Love

Aloha! This is Darinka with the new Art Breath Series called: In The Body - You can find Youtube videos with me drawing live on our The Smile Office channel. See link.

Art Breath is a time to take a break and make art, experience art, view art, breath in art. During an Art Breath you tap into the bigger you - the creating you that has access to all possibilities. We are here in these physical bodies to experience expansion, to create our dreams and to live from our open hearts...and we can totally forget that is what we are doing here on planet Earth in these bodies!

Hence the name of this Art Breath Series for 2013 is called: "In The Body", and through this series I will explore: embodiment. The divine in body.

ART BREATH - Before drawing and painting or creating of any kind, I encourage you to take a few deep breaths - take time to feel your body this very moment. Notice what is tense and what is flowing. Allow everything to be ok just the way it is right now.
Be curious with the tension and feel into it - you may find that your own curiosity can instantly release it, just the act of becoming aware of it may be what is needed to change the pattern.

Curiosity is magical! Anytime you feel yourself resisting, rejecting, judging, hating, explaining, or just plain not accepting what is - be curious about it and allow yourself to expand into a deeper acceptance of the bigger you.

When you are creating art, this is a time you are speaking to your divinity - your higher self, your soul - and it is a great time to allow yourself freedom. Freedom to express what is really going on inside you, freedom to feel colours, lines, shapes, forms and enjoy creating from curiosity and exploration.

with love, Darinka
